Sometimes Mom calls me a pretty smart girl.
Solving IQ puzzles like a boss… (There are treats inside these things!!)
Other times, she reminds me that my brain is the size of a marble.
Genius at Work…
Once in a while, I remind HER – Look who’s talking. I mean, I’m no mathematician, but we are 7 days into the new month and there is no new draft in Mom’s computer. What happened to her 12×12 Challenge – one new story a month for 12 months?
Usually a week into the month, she has at least chosen an idea or named a character or written a cute title. So far this month – nothing.
I, on the other hand, have eaten a bank lollipop,
fought the windy wind at the park,
Ears flapping in the wind…
tested out my winter leg warmers,
worked at the library
and the VA,
shopped for treats,
and got myself blessed at church.
Not bad for a doggie with a marble-sized brain…

Cupcake…you WON the battle. I know your mom didn’t know there was a battle, but no matter! YOU won. LOOK at all you accomplished. I am impressed. I didn’t get half that done because you have a jobbie and I don’t. I had to organize the placement of all the sunpuddles though. That was hard. You however are an inspiration.

Thanks, Little B. Pink is my favorite color. I think those leg warmers will be just the thing. I worked very hard on learning the Shell Game. My progress was inconsistent at best. I found that the secret is to grab random cups, run with them, then come back to see if there are Cheerios. That worked well. #cheeriosarelife

Well I’m late to this stinking party. How did I miss this?!? It’s been a few more than 7 days (even though I know you don’t count, I’m tellin’ya. Trust me) so has mom got anything done yet? And those leg warmers! I laughed so hard I started coughing. You two are a pair!!!🥰🐶🧑🏻❤️ 🎳
Well, Mom is thinking about thinking. That’s a start. Plus she does writing-adjacent things each day, but the new story is still a ghost. Hey! Maybe she can write about a ghost…. Mom laughs her head off about my leg warmers, too, but when the wind at the top of our mountain starts blowing my ears upside down, I’ll be toasty warm like, “Who’s laughing now?”
