Living with a children's author isn't as easy as it looks!

Five Word Friday

Today’s 5 words come from Mom’s April 12×12 story.

17. Mother – We celebrated Mother’s Day yesterday. I am not allowed to go shopping, so I gave Mom kisses and cuddles instead of a gift.

I also put my bony head on her arm for a while. She said, “Patooie. Dog spit.” and “Ouch. I think my arm is paralyzed.” and “I love you, Cupcake, but please get off me!”

98. Skinny – When Mom first found me at the rescue named Purrs and Pups I was kind of skinny. Plus kind of naughty and kind of nervous with lots of bite marks on my head and some bugs in my belly. Mom had a lot to work on.

My Gotcha Day.

She fixed me up, just like she fixes up some of her stories that have bugs in their belly.

33. Dolls – I like to play with dolls. They’re actually more like stuffed (or unstuffed) animals, but I like them better than bones or tennis balls. I cuddle with them

and act like they’re my babies.

Plus sometimes I try to hatch them like eggs.

2. Running – I do running a lot. It’s for protection. Moving target and all that… Mom says, “These floors don’t stand a chance.” and “This is why we can’t have nice things.” And then she calls me the name of Psycho Crackpot.

146. Hiding – When running doesn’t work, I do hiding.

Stranger danger!

It also keeps me safe from scary things.

Mom is not hiding from her 12×12 Challenge this month. She started a new story for May and even though it’s not quite halfway through the month, she’s halfway through the story.

  1. we hope your mom’s new story has no bugs and it hasn’t to hide or to run. It sure will be a story we love a lot like all our toys ;O)

    • Thanks, P. Paws crossed that the newest of the stories is bug free. Plus we’re afraid of bugs, so….

      Love and licks,
      C

  2. so cute and funny

  3. Cupcake you are such an adorable drama queen! That performance on threat of brushing was epic! HAHA I think the photos of you with your “babies” is so sweet…..take my advice though – they won’t hatch. I’m glad you and your Mommy are besties. Me and my Mom are too! I’m sure you had a lovely Mom’s Day with her.

    Love, Teddy

Cupcake, I was glad to see you this morning. You have come to see me, but it gives me a lot of smiles to come to your house here and see YOU. Yup. Everything comes to dead ahead, stop once we get on our mom’s laps. Blood flow slows to a crawl, legs or arms are flattened to a pice of paper-like consistency. We have power! XOX

    • Ha! 100%, KI. I wish I could sleep on Mom’s head like you do with your mom, but she does manage to draw the line somewhere. I never thought of having power, so thanks for that. I think of it more as being desperate to be as close to Mom as possible without actually crawling inside of her.

      Love and licks,
      C

  5. It looks like you have been very busy being cute, Cupcake.

    • Awww. Thanks, C. It’s a fine line between cute and crazy. Paws crossed I haven’t crossed the line.

      Love and licks,
      C

  6. I could watch that video a million times 😂😂😂😂😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️🐶👍🏼
Mom needs to share her story. 😉

  7. Your mom has the stick-to-it-iveness thing down pat. Love your sofa zoomies, Cupcake!

  8. Good Luck to Mom! And I am so very glad you have Mom! Mom makes your whole world better!

I get that a lot too about not being able to have nice things on our house. It has to do with the dirt I track in from outside. Hey, I can’t help it if I have to run through mud to chase those rotten squirrels!

Tell your Mom good luck with her writing!

    • Thanks, C. Moms can be very anti-mud, anti-dirt, and anti-squirrel-chasing in my experience. I will never understand that thinking.

      Love and licks,
      C

  10. OhMyGosh, I am laughing so hard! Your Mom couldn’t keep from laughing either.

    • Mom does laugh at me a lot, Pix. Apparently, just when she thinks I will be normal, the jackasses in my head tell me an idea.

      Love and licks,
      C

  11. Our floors don’t stand a chance either, Cupcake, so don’t worry – you’re in good company 🙂 Running happens at our house when the squeaky toys come out, or when deer breach the perimeter and must be chased off (which also involves a LOT of extremely ferocious barking!) and hiding happens when the dreaded vacuum comes out! The vacuum-hating is just one more reason why the floors don’t stand a chance! 🙂

    • OMGoodness, S. That is a LOT of wear and tear on the floors. I’m pretty sure if deer came too close, I would hide. Also I would check if they left me any candies in the grass. Vacuums don’t even scare me – not even the iRobot which runs me over pretty much every day because apparently I’m “clueless.”

      Love and licks,
      C

  12. Kisses and cuddles are the best kind of gift. I spend all my money on treats for me and my brothers so I didn’t have any money for a gift either. Lucky for me my mom just loves the dickens out of me (us). Lady Caroline

    • Of course, Lady C. Love always wins as a gift. Treats aren’t too bad either. #justsayin’

      Love and licks,
      C

  13. MOL MOL…the brushie has some magic in it…MOL 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy Tuesday dear Cupcake and Mom🐾😽💞

  14. Our floors don’t stand a chance either. The cats and I love to skid around corners!

    • Isn’t skidding the best, C? Also, crash landing into walls and cabinets. *sigh* Good times…

      Love and licks,
      C

  15. Mom and I had so much fun watching the video! I laughed until I could not see anymore. You are so funny Cupcake! I also love to push the cushions from the couches. It’s so much fun! 😀

My mom says kisses and cuddles are the best gift ever and no money can ever buy that. We are so lucky to have moms that love us so much. 🙂

I am glad I made a friend who also love stuffed animals. They are the best. The unstuffed ones are also cool, aren’t they? I sometimes unstuff them. 😀

Have fun Cupcake. Lots of wet kisses for you and your mom.
    Rambo. xxx

    • Ha! Thanks, R. I don’t unstuff my toys anymore. I used to though when I first came to live here. Once I also ate my coat. It was naughty, but I didn’t know how to be a good girl, yet. Now I do.

      Love and licks,
      C

Cuddles and kisses are the very best gift you can give to a mom, good job Cupcake!

  17. Mom’s May story sounds super, Cupcake. I hope you are featured!

    • Thanks, PT. I want Mom to feature me in EVERY story EVERY month. As fascinating as I am, that’s not usually how it plays out…

      Love and licks,
      C

  18. Lulu: “I think giving kisses and cuddles is the same thing as a gift. In fact it’s probably better!”
