Living with a children's author isn't as easy as it looks!

Mom and I are connected. Wherever she is, that’s where I am. Our connection is strong. Sometimes she leaves me behind and goes out without me. In that case, I am just sad and waiting for her to come back to me. …But I still feel connected.

Mom has been working with some of her new story ideas. She is trying to get some of them to connect to each other. Putting a random character into a random setting is always fun, so Mom does that a lot. Walking them into a problem and then getting them to struggle their way to a creative solution is also fun, but more difficult.

I have been stuck in some situations now and then, myself. Sometimes, I can get myself out, but sometimes, I straight-up need help.

Strange doggie staring at me. Stay strong.

Opening the treat drawer – Wait for Mom to help.

Hat falling off…

Run!

Stuck under the bed…

Settle in for the long haul.

Lost a shoe – cross your paws that it’s never found…

FYI – It’s ALWAYS found…

Caught in the soccer net – “MOM!”

  1. It’s important to know where the treats are kept – that’s a very important connection!

  2. amazing that they always find that things back while we hope they never make the way back to us…. but I still miss my rope toy and neither the mama nor my dad can find it… do you think murphys law counts for dogs too?

    • That rope toy is a mystery. You may need a doggie detective to track that thing down. Unless The Mama or Dad hid it on purpose….. Hmmmm…..

Connections are important esp with our people. When I need something I have lots of ways that I connect with My Margret. Sometimes it takes her awhile to understand though. I’m sorry that your mom always finds your missing boot. I know we could brainstorm and find new boot hiding places! ~ nose nudges Bessie Pup

    • I always wish a squirrel would pop that boot on his head like a hat and take off up a tree…. Way, way, way up a tree. So far, no luck with that, though.

      Love and licks,
      C

  4. Connecting is important. Connecting with each other. Connecting ideas. Connecting dots. Wait! Dots? Is that a game? Fun! I can connect with that. I love games! You are always connected with your mom. Even when we have lunch she connects to you with her phone, and sometimes we’re bored because you just sit there, but most times we smile because you’re so dang cute. Stay connected 😉

    • Thanks, G. Mom bought me some treats that are little dots. They’re fun, but the key word there is “little.” Sometimes, I swallow them whole. Mom says the word, “Never again” about them. They’re almost finished, and so far I have not choked to death, so that’s good, I guess. Meanwhile, we will stay connected, especially when we head to Petco to NOT buy the dot treats.

      Love and licks,
      C

  5. Great pictures Cupcake. Connecting with other people is so important and connecting with our animals is very important too. You all have a fine day.

    • Thanks, M. It’s good to stay connected, and good for Mom to connect ideas. We are all stuck together like glue.

      Love and licks,
      C

  6. Oh beautiful – I just love your outlook in life. Happy Monday sweets. XOXO – Bacon

  7. Oh dear Cupcake I think it’s wonderful that you and your Mom are connected. You help each other, make each other happy, keep each other company – it’s wonderful to have someone to SHARE stuff with (except our treats of course!).

    Love, Teddy

    • SOOOO true, T. If Mom ever tried to eat some of my treats, we would have a real problem. If I eat some of her treats, ….well… That’s OK. Our sharing goes in only one direction!

      Love and licks,
      C

We love to connect random stuff when we make stories! Add some doggie logic and you’ll have a great story!

    • Mom says that doggie logic is an oxymoron. That could just be THIS doggie right here. Just because I got lost and stuck behind the big chair a few times, she just can’t let it go already…

      Love and licks,
      C

  9. HEY! CUPCAKE! It looks like you had a birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Boomer

    • Thanks, B. Actually, the cake and hat were from Mom’s friend’s birthday. But I got to get my picture takes and even lick some whipped cream!

      Love and licks,
      C

  10. MOL…you are so inspiring, Cupcake, you make the best connections for a good story for your mom…MOL 😀 Hot Pawkisses for a Sunny Day 🙂 ❤

    • Thanks, Little B. It’s a rainy week, so I am waiting patiently (NOT patiently) for the sunny day you sent to get here.

      Love and licks,
      C

  11. Nets are never fun, Cupcake! It’s also not fun being stuck under the bed, and we aren’t sure who we see when we wait for the “magic room” to take us from the lobby to our apartment. Two orange faces peer back at us, and they look an awful lot like us! Love, the Two Orange Pups.

    • That Magic Room is terrifying, Orange Pups! There’s a dog that looks just like me (wearing the same sweater) staring down at me from the ceiling. Yikes! It’s crazy in that thing!

      Love and licks,
      C

  12. Heh, heh. Not sure who’s more clever, you or your mom, Cupcake! Kudos to you both.

  13. My pups always connect “Mom’s home” with “It must be time to eat.” (Sometimes erroneously. Oh, and Xena is jealous of your valentine’s dress.

    • Awwww…. Thanks, X. This dress would look fabulous on you. Don’t worry, A. Even if it’s not time for dinner, “Mom’s home” will at least mean it’s COOKIE TIME!

      Love and licks,
      C

  14. You mom is very good at connecting things!

  15. You look beautiful in your Valentines dress. We are connected with Mom and Dad too. We help each other all of the time.

  16. I love it C. You are showing how things are connected. You look beautiful in your clothes.

    S

    • Thanks, S. Mom picks out all my clothes for me. We’re so connected, she even knows that pink is my favorite color.

      Love and licks,
      C

  17. Cupcake you always make me smile!

Cupcake, you look totally adorable in your Valentine dress.I think I love that dress best of all of them. And that over the shoulder look in your pretty picture will bring all the boy pups straight to your door asking to be your swain. Laughed at the lost shoes found! BUT just think, your manicure will stay good with the shoes on and your tootsies will be happy without cold and salty wet on them.
    Love and smoochies, Katie Isabella

    • Thanks, KI. I do know that the shoes are “for my own good,” but they are still a tough nut to crack. Also tough is that Mom expects me to poop out there – WITH SHOES ON! #shesmental

      Love and licks,
      C

  20. Good job finding that treat drawer. It’s the most important one in the house!

  21. Your a so sweet cupcake!

  22. How did she find the shoe? I know at least one dog in my house that would be happy if ALL shoes were lost.

    Stay strong, Cupcake, stay strong.
