Today’s 5 words are from one of the stories that Mom recently finished. She will stop looking at it for a couple of weeks, and then she will start working on it again to make it better.
14. Doze – If you’re a dog like me, you LOVE dozing.
When I doze, I dream of treats, the park,
my toys, and riding in the car. If you’re a writer like Mom, dozing is a good way to get ideas. Just be sure to keep your phone nearby so you can type them in and not forget them!
Wait… What? Are those giant swans staring at me…?
62. Cruising – Speaking of the car, cruising in Mom’s car is one of my favorite activities ever.
Cruising takes me to work at the VA, to play at the library, to McDonald’s for ice cream,
Before…
After…
and of course to the park.
7. Thankful – I am thankful for a lot of things. One of them is toys. I love these guys.
29. Morning – Mom does her writing work in the morning on most days. I help her by staying close by and watching and listening carefully. Without me, she would not even be a writer. It’s as simple as that.
5. Cowered – When I first saw a pumpkin, I cowered in my doorway and Mom couldn’t get me past that hateful thing.
Scared ears…
I still don’t like pumpkins very much, but I am getting braver about a lot of other Halloween decorations.

Oh Cupcake you are a big inspiration to your Mom in lotsa ways I think including her writing! I don’t think I would like those BIG SWANS staring at me either…but you do look very brave not just with THEM staring, but with the Halloween decorations (not counting the dreaded pumpkins!). You have lots of fun looking toys – so do I even though I don’t play with them much anymore…….You and I – we are lucky – we are loved!

I love dozing too… maybe we are the same breed? bull-dozers? and I agree with you, pumpkins are scary… it’s a squash plant so it can squash dogs…
I’m pretty sure we’re not bull-dozers, E. There was a bull-dozer on my street once, and it wasn’t very friendly…. Maybe we’re dog-dozers. A bull-dozer would be helpful in squashing pumpkin demons, though…

Cupcake, your Mom is one lucky lady to have you dozing by her side as she writes each morning. She must be so thankful for you, as she cruises along on her writing journey – even if you cower sometimes at the sight of scary Halloween pumpkins.

The pups were very scared of one of our Halloween decorations. (It was a skeleton dog!). But they have since gotten use to him. Hope you don’t run into one!

Dozing is one of my favorite passtimes. That and sniffing out news! I’m not fond of Halloween…Mom always thinks she has to dress me up. Now you, Cupcake, You look good dressed up!

My phone is full of notes for my books. My characters talk to me when I try to sleep at night so I have to grab my phone and type because you never remember in the morning!
Yikes, MK. Those talking characters sound scary. Kind of like when I say the word, “Woof. Woof. Woof.” in my sleep and wake Mom up all in a panic so she can tell me I am fine.

Thanks, M. I never get to have all my toys at once. Mom rations them out and keeps half hidden away. When she switches them out, I usually forget they were in the closet and think she went shopping. It’s exciting.

I find it helpful to put writing down for a while and then look at it letter with a ‘fresh’ eye. Sometimes when you are writing you get so caught up in what you want it to say, that you don’t see what it REALLY says.
And um, Miss Cupcake, that’s a fine lot of toys you have right there. A fine lot.

Only on Dante, the multipoo, blog have I ever seen so many dog toys except at a pet store.

I LOVE my PetziCam, A. And YES! Lexi and I agreed about the car. Although I used to get carsick when I first came here, Mom taught me that the car takes me to fun places like the park, Petco, obedience school, and to do therapy work. Road trip – whoo-hoo!
