There’s some new stuff going on around here. Today’s five words are all about new stuff.
1. Toys. Mom bought me some new toy hot dogs for Fourth of July. Apparently, these were supposed to take the place of having a delicious REAL hot dog at a delicious ACTUAL barbecue.
68. Group. Mom joined a new online writing critique group. There’s a bunch of smarty, creative, friendly, and helpful people who will talk with Mom about her stories and their stories. It seems like fun, because who doesn’t love talking to smarty, creative, friendly, and helpful people. I wish I could sit on their feet, cuddle up with them, and lick their teeth. Yeah – that’s a thing, and I’m pretty good at it.
33. Clothes. Mom and I had to stay away from the house for a few hours because of workmen putting in a new front window. Plus power tools and glass breaking could scare a little doggie. We spent some time looking around at the pet store. Mom picked out this new shirt for me. It tells a true fact.
97. Window. Our new front window works great.
I can watch Mom leave and wait for her to come back. Also, Mom gets to wash my nose prints and spit off the glass every single day of her life.
5. Summer School. Mom will start studying in Kidlit Summer School at the end of the month. Every day she will read posts, get ideas, do assignments, and share her work with her cyberclassmates. I’m hoping it’ll be fun for her. I know it’ll be fun for me because she has to stay here with me to do it. It’s school, but it’s home! Yay!

That is a good shirt you got at the pet store. I also really like the one with cupcakes on it. Perfect for you. School will be fun. Lady Caroline
Thanks, Lady C. New shirts are my favorite thing!
Love and licks,
C
Teeth liking? Eeeeewwww! Don’t you know who GROSS hooman mouths are? *BOL* We’re just teasing you.
Tell your mom put some elbow grease into cleaning that new window…every day of her life!
Wally & Sammy
Mom says the word Eeeeuuwww a lot when I like her teeth. Also the word Yuck and the word Blech and the word Disgusting. That means she loves it. ….Right…?
Love and licks,
C
it must be lovely for your mom to see your lovely face every time she glances up from her computer screen. I’m sure it helps her a lot!
Thanks, C. That’s always my plan. I am a good helper. I can stare at her all day.
Love and licks,
C
The shirt is fabulous! I love it!!! and I like the idea to have a cyber-classroom… you an learn togetherwith the online-students, pawsome! Maybe you can be the teacher too when your mom needs a break or a cold drink? bet all students would love it!
Thanks, E. Great idea. The second Mom leaves the computer, I will tell all her classmates, “xbdgfbeiwiehdbctfbeuwnxudbfycbdjd” I think they’ll like that….
Love and licks,
C
great idea… say it is a song and all have to sing it with you now…and don’t furget the video cam hehehehe
Seeing the world trough your eyes Cupcake is a feats, every time! The Kidlitt Summer School sounds like so much fun!! Charley understands …hard noises are terrifying! xo Johanna and Charley
Thanks, J and C. I’m happy Mom took me away from the power tools. Plus we shopped and ate pizza and walked in the park.
Love and licks,
C
WOW Cupcake! Love your new t-shirt and that hot dog toy is kinda cute even if it doesn’t taste like REAL hot dogs……..Your new front window will let you see all kinds of fun stuff – people walking by, other dogs, squirrels, all kinds of things to BARK BARK BARK at! YAY!
Hugs, Sammy
Thanks, S. I do have a great view out the new window. I can also watch for danger, like the deadly mailman and the evil FedEx guy. Plus the golf cart and the lawn guys.
Love and licks,
C
New toys are always good, but we thinks you should have gotten a real hot dog too. We like your new window and it’s wonderful your Mom will be able to stay home with you and go to school at the same time. ~Tuiren & Family
Thanks, T. I am happy Mom will be home for school. I worry about her when she’s not with me. She needs my guidance at all times.
Love and licks,
C
Wow such a lot is happening over at yours 🙂 Hahahaha I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who is taking a degree in dog nose art, have lots of fun
Thanks, Mrs. P. I LOVE that you call it nose art. I’m not sure Mom appreciates it as much as she should. Sometimes she calls it the word “filth.” Go figure.
Love and licks,
C
Filth ?????? What ????
some art styles are soooo misunderstood LOL
The TwoOrangePups are happy that I’ll be at school with your Mom and at home, too. We’ll pretend you’re at our feet, Cupcake, and giving teeth kisses, too. Much friendlier than the puppy nips Chili has been sharing! And we could have a contest to see who can leave, and clean off, the most nose marks on a window in one day. What fun! #dogdaysofsummer coming soon!
So fun, P. You will be Mom’s classmate! Nipping is naughty. Plus teeth kisses are also naughty when there are too many. Mom says the word, “You’re killing me!”
Love and licks,
C
Cupcake, you are so sweet the way you wait for mom to come back home 🌸
Thanks, M. If I get bored of waiting, I sleep on the chair. But I keep checking the window, in case she surprises me.
Love and licks,
C
A beautiful new canvas for your nose art. I’m sure there will be plenty of masterpieces.
Thank you, W. They ARE masterpieces! Mom calls them “disgusting” which I’m pretty sure means the same thing…
Love and licks,
C
OH! I like your new window! I know your mom will enjoy seeing your creative dog art!
Linda

Thanks, L. Dog art is my specialty. If I could reach, I’d do some on ALL of the windows.
Love and licks,
C
Cupcake, you are a gem! What would your mom do without you to supply her with nose prints and spit to clean of the new window? 🙂 New critique group sounds great, and rah rah kidlit summer school! 🙂
Thanks, S. That is the question of the century. Mom would not know what to do without my nose art. Plus sometimes she says the word, “How long would a roll of paper towels last if you weren’t here?” I think she really likes paper towels.
Love and licks,
C
Some of us may have given up on washing off dog nose prints…
Really, S. Is that a thing?? I wish Mom would give it up. I think it looks pretty.
Love and licks,
C
I am lazy. I probably should wipe them off. But there are so many other things I have to do with my time.
I agree about giving up on keeping the glass clean. It’s new, but after a while, your Mom will probably run and clean it when she is having company, just like my Mom does. Sometimes the side window in the car is so full of my nose art that we can’t see out!
That’s perfect, L. Nobody needs to see out the side car windows, anyway. In all 5 years since I lived here, Mom never missed a day of cleaning my work off the front window. I keep waiting for her to get bored of it. Not yet….
Love and licks,
C
Oh, have fun at the Kidlit Summer School.
Thanks, P. Mom and I liked it a lot last summer. Plus Mom learned new things to work on.
Love and licks,
C
Oh My! The Cupcake tee! Very cute! Cupcake, I miss having to wash the Z Cat’s nose prints off of almost every window and glass door in our house. You crack me up waiting and watching for your Mom and I can see those little nose prints in my mind! That is a lovely window! And, oh yes, hot dogs are delicious!
But not as delicious as CHEESEBURGERS!
So good to hear that your mom can see you in between the lines of Summer school, Cupcake. That must bring up more than just her imagination 😀 I like to watch out of the window too, especially when Granny just cleaned the windows… 😀 Pawkisses for a Happy Day 🙂 ❤
I agree with you, Little B. The clean windows are always the best! For about 5 minutes….
Love and licks,
C
We don’t decorate with nose prints every day but we do like to do nose prints on the front windows so we can greet the post lady when she’s putting the mail or bills through the door.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
“Greeting” the post person has a different meaning around here. I “greet” him with barks, growls, running, and throwing myself against the door and the window. We’re all still alive, so I guess it’s working.
Love and licks,
C
Cupcake, those look like some great toys. What a fun time you must have with them. And that group that your Mom as joined sounds like a good one. Hope she has a great time and learns a lot.
Thanks, M. New toys are always the best kind. I hope Mom’s new friends are the best kind, too.
Love and licks,
C
Kidlit?! Sounds like such fun. Plus home. Yay! (You must hate it when mom meets me for lunch!) Love the new shirt! ❤️🐶
Thanks, G. Fun and home are two of my favorite words. I do kind of hate when Mom has lunch with you, but I have a feeling she looks in on me a time or two by remote surveillance camera…. Meanwhile, I can’t hate it too much because it makes her SO happy, plus it’s the second best idea ever!
Love and licks,
C
School at home sounds like a winning combo to me!
That’s what I’m hoping, M. Mom and me – at school at home. Fun!
Love and licks,
Cupcake
You and your mom are both super busy. I totally understand that whole cleaning the glass thing every day. Have fun with the cyberclass. I see some serious mischief going on there!
Mischief!? Really? I hope you’re right, S. I LOVE mischief!
Love and licks,
C
I love that new toy of yours. Very cute.
Thanks, cats. It’s very cute and almost as long as me!
Love and licks,
C
Yay, you get to spend more time with mom, isn’t that wonderful!!!
I like your shirt, and you ARE a big deal! But I would be pretty upset if Jen tried to fool me with a fake hotdog.
WE leave nose prints all over dad’s truck… hehehe.. especiallyu in front of where he looks as he drives… hehehehe
