This is new. In case you don’t recognize it, it’s called sunshine. On my belly. And my face. And my bits and pieces.
This is new, too. It’s a new treat for me to try. I only got a little piece (and no raisins!), but oooh it was yummy. It’s a hot cross bun – it was not hot and Mom ate the cross, but I got a hunk of the bun. Awesome.

Here I am “working” with some old friends at the Veteran’s Home.
But I was really teaching someone new. A new friend will be joining Mom and me at work there soon. I was showing her the ropes. I can’t wait to work with the new therapy pet team!
Mom is doing something new this week, too. It’s a different kind of school visit. Usually, she reads her book and talks about being a writer.
But since her book is about a blind boy in a sighted classroom, this week, she’ll be attending an event called Disability Awareness Day.
She’ll play games and talk to small groups of kids and help them understand how to be a friend to all kinds of differently-abled people.
Mom said, “This will be fun.” and “I love a new experience.” and “BEHAVE while I’m gone!”
…. Don’t I always?
All of her supplies are packed up and ready to go.
She named them Keep-Away and Do-Not-Touch. I call them…

Thanks, FM. I survived the looong Disability Awareness Day, waiting for Mom. She looked in at me through the doggie surveillance camera during her lunch time and I was staring out the window waiting for her. But she still had FOUR HOURS TO GO!

I wrote about my disabled son today and was pleasantly surprised that your post touched on that today. I discuss briefly how folks learn from him when they have actually come to help him out. It’s a two way street.
It’s always a 2-way street, A. That’s one theme in Mom’s picture book. Interdependence.

Hi Cupcake! Looks like you have that new dress of yours on in that one photo at the Veterans Home……I know they are so happy to see you when you stop by. We also think your Mom’s new plan for school visits is wonderful….although those bags she takes along seem to have some VERY interesting items in them like that cute stuffie and a baseball! Good to check these things out……almost as good as getting a bit of hot cross bun!

Great way to start my morning with you in your yellow Spring dress! We have sunshine this morning… I am happy you had some sunshine on your belly, face, and bits and pieces! The picture of you anticipating the bite of that hot cross bun… those are some big brown eyes Cupcake. Guess what? I have never had a hot cross bun! I think if I were a kid I would enjoy your Mom coming to my school!

What a fun and post. Cupcake, you’re just naturally curious. Love that you are a pet therapy dog because I know you put a smile on many faces — especially with your new outfits. Love the bunny ears. Mom did have fun at the Disability event. I hope she writes about it soon. My outfits make everybody smile, plus it keep me from shedding too much onto their clothes! 🙂
