Living with a children's author isn't as easy as it looks!

Messed Up

Mom’s schedule is messed up. She’s been in and out a lot and not doing her writing on her usual schedule. None of this is my fault, as you can tell from my perfectly innocent face.

Mom did not do a June story for her 12×12 Challenge, but she is determined to do a July one. I hope she doesn’t mess this up.

This is my stuffed goose.

He is messed up, too. I’m not sure what happened to his wing. Really! I have no idea!! It used to look smooth, feel soft, and sound crunchy. Now it looks shredded, feels shredded, and sounds …quiet. Mom threw the crunchy and soft parts in the garbage and said I was naughty.

Inside my head, I said SHE was naughty, because I was planning to eat them when nobody was looking.

  1. It’s quite obvious you’re innocent! It probably wouldn’t have been a good idea to eat those bits though. You’d better keep an eye out for the intruder that damaged your goose! You never know what he or she could get up to next.

  2. There is nothing wrong with a good roasted goose :o)

  3. Gosh Cupcake….what a face like that WHO could pawsibly say the word “naughty” in relation to the owner of that face????? Well, sometimes Moms can be so practical when they ought to just be glad we didn’t eat the entire toy – right??? Happy 4th!

    Kitty Hugs, Sammy

  4. (snickers). Good thing the bad pieces were tossed, you might get them caught in your throat!

  5. A similar incident happened at our house recently. A monkey was found in much the same shame. We were told by a good friend to blame Harvey, that 6 foot rabbit that likes to
cause mischief. Perhaps that might have worked for you.

  6. Poor Cupcake! We totally agree with you: mom is naughty for throwing away perfectly good stuffie parts, how rude!

  7. Blame the squirrels. I am telling you, this tactic works every time!

  9. It’s hard to keep to your writing schedule all the time, especially when family is visiting, or it’s a holiday, or etc. I’m sure your mom will find her groove again soon ๐Ÿ™‚ And Cupcake, it is clear that your goose did himself an injury and is trying to frame you. Innocent until proven guilty, I say! ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Oh Cupcake, of course your mom won’t mess it up! I’ll bet this story will be doubly good! Happy 4th you guys!

  11. It obviously wasn’t Cupcake, those evil birds are on the loose again!

  20. Oh, poor Cupcake! Authors do really weird things whenever they are going through a crisis: they chew on their pencil, make strange drawings, they cannot sit calmly in front of the computer but wander through the flat or house. And yes – they might also mess up stuffed toys. They are dangerous!

  21. Talk about hair balls! That would have been NASTY! Momma knows best. Keep calm and move foreward…

  22. BOL Cupcake, I don’t blame you for calling her naughty! Isn’t this what stuffies are for?

  23. She took the crunchy parts away? But those are the best parts!! Way to show that Goose who is boss!!!!

  24. […] saw something else that was different last week. Out in the field with my goose friends there was a white bird. Itย might have been a small, whiteย goose, and it might have been a big, […]
