Mom and I are counting down to the end of the month.
My January Countdown
3. Snow! We need more snow before January is finished! I love snow… As long as it isn’t deep enough to touch my belly. That scares me. Mom digs it with the shovel so I won’t be afraid.
2. Learning. Mom teaches me and teaches me every day. I am getting better with fetching, as long as there are Cheerios. I am still confused about bowling, though.
1. Work. Mom is working hard to finish her January story for 12×12. Tick. Tick. Tick. She’s really cutting it close.
Mom’s January Countdown
3. No snow! Mom doesn’t want snow because it is too much mess and trouble. But if it snows, she will have to stay home and work on her stories (and play with me). C’mon snow!
2. Learning. Mom will study at an online writing class in February. Tick. Tick. Tick. Soon, I will not be the only one learning.
1. Work. Mom will work with her writing group named DavidLaurieandOtherDavid next week. They will talk about stories and eat cookies and drink coffee. How does that count as work??

No more snow Cupcake 🙂
Don’t say that, John. You’ve been in the land of palm trees too long!
Love and licks,
C
Hi Cupcake
My Grandma has been teaching me bowling too at her house. I have special brightly coloured bowling pins and we just use a big beach ball. It’s fun. Snow looks fun too. It’s soooooooo hot where we are.
Lots of love
Bubba xox
You will be a great bowler, Bubba! Beach ball bowling is fun. I just use my paw and my face to knock down the pins. But sometimes, I just forget what to do.
Love and licks,
C
We had a bit of snow Cupcake but its gone now 😦 On line writing school, that sounds fun 🙂 Have a wonderful Wednesday xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
I’m sorry about your snow, M. It might snow around here on Friday. I hope I don’t have to wear my snow boots. *gulp*
Love and licks,
C
Wow, you’re a real snowdog. Cupcake, if your mom gives you some Cheerios before, during and after bowling, I think your bowling will work out fine… talking about work, you’ve got a point there..try some coffee with the bowling 😀
Thanks, AW! I love coffee. Mom does give me a Cheerio before and after the pins are down. Nothing during. That may be the whole problem!! Not enough treats. Isn’t that ALWAYS the problem!?
Love and licks,
C
I agree with your mom, Cupcake… no more snow… and you know what? Mother Nature said ok and send me a lot of rain… not really what I want … but better than this white stuff ;o)
Thank goodness your snow is gone, E. I hope it didn’t touch your belly. That’s the worst!
Love and licks,
C
Cupcake I’m sure as long as the cheerios are coming, you’ll get the hang of bowling again. I’m pawsitive of it! You look nice and cozy in your coats in the snow but your Mom is right that it’s a lot of work for humans….all that shoveling and stuff. Whew! Tell your Mom that my Mom said good luck with the online writing course……. 😀
Kitty Hugs, Sammy
Thanks, Sammy. Mom might have to get out the shovel later this week. Belly touching snow would be BAD.
Love and licks,
C
I say if cookies are involved, you can call it anything you want!
Cookies! YUM! Thanks, R.
Love and licks,
C
The writing group sounds fun! Cupcake we re hoping for more snow too!
Bella and DiDi
Thanks B. and D. I hope Mom does OK with her learning, and doesn’t embarrass me.
Love and licks,
C
All the writing activities are so inspirational! I can’t wait to have time one day to do something like that 🙂 We hope your mom finishes her book on time and (sorry Mom) more snow would be fun!
Oink oink,
Katie and Coccolino the mini pig
Thanks K. and C. Snow is fun. I guess writing is fun too. Coffee, cookies, talking, computers – FUN!
Love and licks,
C
Snow is the best. I hope you get loads and loads!!
Thanks, M. Me too. I will run around in circles like a mental case. Good times….
Love and licks,
C
It’s warming up here in AZ – send some of that cold stuff our way too!
Sam
I wish I could, Sam. I like to share. I think. I’ve never actually shared before….
Love and licks,
C
Talking about stories, eating cookies and drinking coffee is a very important part of the thinking process, Cupcake – it’s like how the cheerios help you learn fetching and maybe someday bowling 🙂 My dogs love snow, too, but I have to shovel for Jemma if it gets too deep or she won’t do what she needs to do in the yard… she uses the porch where the snow isn’t so deep and that is VERY naughty!!!
Keep that shovel handy, Susanna! Otherwise it’ll be YOUR fault if Jemma is naughty. I’m saving some Cheerios for Mom so she can finish her January story.
Love and licks,
C
I agree, we need more snow here as well! Cupcake you loook like such a innocent little cutie-pie in your 2nd picture!
Thanks, K! I AM an innocent little cutie-pie! Well, I’m little anyway!
Love and licks,
C
We are totally jealous! Eko would love to romp in some snow. And since I don’t have to shovel the apartment, it works well for me too! Although digging out my car isn’t the most fun, it would be well worth it for a winter wonderland romp.
Snow is the best, Will & Eko! Romping is also the best. I can only romp on my leash. Mom doesn’t trust me off the leash, because of my tiny brain. Still a ton of fun!!
Love and licks,
C
Cookies and coffee. Good.
Snow and shoveling, BAD!
Let’s get with the bowling.
Let’s get with the January story!
Thanks, Gemma! The January story went about 35 more words today, and may make it by next week. Bowling is up for later. Now, Mom will get with a bagel….
Love and licks,
C
Sounds like you guys will be busy! I don’t like snow either, but fortunately there is no snow here!
We’re always busy, Ann. Sometimes, not in a good way….. *bath time*
Love and licks,
C
Cupcake,
My Two Orange Pups like snow, too, but I’m rather less fond of it, especially when the temperatures are this low!
Please tell Mom that she has eight more days to complete her story for January – plenty of time for such a talented Mom!
Thanks, Patricia! Eight days sounds like a lot. That’s 16 bowls of food. Yay!
Love and licks,
C
I agree with your mom…I’ve had enough snow and cold weather for 3 months now. What class is your mom taking in Feb? Hope she has time to play with you and write!
Thanks, Tina! Mom is doing Susanna Hill’s course. http://susannahill.blogspot.com/p/making-picture-book-magic.html I think it will be more fun than fetching.
Love and licks,
C
We had lots of snow in UK
Yikes, M3M, I hope it wasn’t high enough to touch bellies. Snow on my belly is too scary.
Love and licks,
C
I’d like more snow, but my bipeds are not so keen!
It’s something about she shovel, Clowie. They don’t get to run around in circles like we do.
Love and licks,
C
I knew you’d get the hang of fetch in no time, Cupcake! And I bet you’ll be back to bowling any day now too! Also, I will cross my paws for more snow so you can have more cuddle time with your mom 🙂
I’m working hard, Remy. I won’t let my tiny brain hold me back.
Love and licks,
C
You are too cute for just a blog Cupcake. You should go on a “Cupcake the Speaking Dog” world tour (just bring a laptop, type something in, and… presto! You speak!)! Good luck Mom! 🙂
You have a huge brain, Erik – and some big ideas. I hope I can do the world tour in Mom’s car. I love the car. Did you hear me speaking in Julie’s video montage? http://www.juliehedlund.com/12-x-12-picture-book-writers-invite-you-to-join/ It was no world tour, but I was adorable!
Love and licks,
C
Yes you were adorable!
There is no dog as cute as you Cupcake. Dad is plotting to kidnap you… LOL..your mom is sure busy and wow, you sure have a lot of wonderful toys. We collies would love to share and destroy… er play with them with you. 🙂
the collies and chuck 🙂
You don’t want snow up to your tummy Cupcake – you don’t have as much insulation as me! 🙂
hope you and Mommy both get all your tick off lists completed! And that “work” group sounds more like a peeps’ excuse for hanging out talking and eating MOL
I like how your countdowns differ… Compromise! 🙂
