Somebody named Hurricane Sandy is coming to my house soon. I like getting company because then people will say I’m cute and they’ll pet me. But Mom says when Sandy comes, I have to be ready. Like this….
On Saturday, I worked at the Veteran’s Home. Mom got me ready to celebrate Halloween there. Here I am ready in the car….
and ready when we got there…
Mom wanted me to stand by the giant eagle for my picture, but I was suspicious. That thing looked ready to peck my eyes out and claw my face off! This is close enough!
Mom is ready, too. She’s ready for PiBoIdMo which will start on November 1st. She didn’t really DO anything to get ready, but she got ready inside her head, and typed on the computer a little bit. She will have to think of a bunch of ideas that she could maybe, possibly write about sometime. I think she has to get 30. Or 50. Or 9,000 ideas in a row. She will type them into her Iconic Notes App on her phone. That’s what she usually does when she has an idea, but in November she will start a brand new page of Iconic Notes ideas. She already put the numbers in – from one to nine thousand …..or whatever. So she’s ready.
Now it’s time to get ready for dinner. This is my favorite kind of ready! Yum!

I hope Hurricane Sandy doesn’t stay too long — that’s the kind of visitor you’d rather not have! Best to be ready, though.
Thanks, Beth. We want Sandy to go away! It’s too scary.
Love and licks,
C
Wow, so many bloggers on my blogroll are in Sandy’s path! I hope you avoid any damages.
Thanks, John. We followed all the directions, so we’re as ready as we can be.
Love and licks,
C
You look so adorable in these costumes I am super jealous! Plus good on you for being ready for the hurricane! You never can be too prepared for these things! I was over in Florida when Katrina hit all them years ago and it was terryfying. Me and my sister hid in a wardrobe becuase it was noisy and dark and trees were blowing over in the street 😦 You be safe Cupcake!! xxx
Thanks, HD. We’re hoping to be brave when Sandy comes. We’ll stay inside and be safe.
Love and licks,
C
Ok. Sandy wise, I am so freaked out! And PiBoIdMo WHAT ??? Explain, please. And you look like you’re not so sure about that dinner. Or are you just being good?
Be safe, my dogfriend. Take care of yourself and mom ❤
I was being good about waiting for Mom to take 62 pictures of me in front of my bowl. I’m never in doubt about food. I eat first and ask questions later.
We’re also freaked out about the storm. It does not look like fun at all. We did precautions, and now we’ll try to be brave. You be brave, too, Gemma! XO
Love and licks,
C
BTW, Gemma, to find out more about Picture Book Idea Month (PiBoIdMo) click here…. http://taralazar.com/piboidmo/
That’s an awful lot of readiness! It seems like it should be enough, right? 😉
I sure hope so, Jen! We’re all as ready as we can be.
Love and licks,
C
Stay safe! We are praying for your safety.
Thanks, Collies and Chuck. We’re hunkering down. XO
Be safe! Sandy is headed our way too and I suspect Duke will be hiding in my bed before long.
Get under the covers, Duke! This Sandy person looks mean.
Love and licks,
C
Duke has been glued to me since the storm started. Unfortunately, I had to relocate to my daughter’s home so I could access power again. However, Duke is welcome to my bed. I think the worst is over now, though, since I can take him out without carrying him outside and forcing the issue.
We dogs spend an awful lot of time getting ready! I’m hearing a lot about Sandy. And none of it is good. I’m sorry that he’s coming to visit you. I hope he doesn’t stay long. And I hope he doesn’t come to Texas. My Mom Person says there’s not much chance of that. You be brave!
Thanks, Rhythm! I am trying to be brave.
Love and licks,
C
Wow, 9000 ideas?! That would be super. Stay safe and dry, Cupcake! We’re praying.
Thanks, Tina! I don’t understand numbers at all, so 30, 9,000, 600 – they’re all the same to me. Mom says they’re NOT the same to her!
Love and licks,
C
Cupcake, send that woman away, she means trouble! Be careful!
She IS trouble, AngelsWhisper! I already don’t like Sandy at all, and she’s not even here yet!
Love and licks,
C
Stay safe guys, we are worriyng about you all. We never realised so many of our bloggy friends live in the path of Sandy. Thinking of you all. Cupcake, you look terrific as a nurse..BOL xx00xx
Mollie and Alfie
Thanks, Mollie and Alfie! I think I would be a good nurse. I could lick boo-boos.
Love and licks,
C
Stay safe!
Cupcake I love your nurse outfit, love it!!!
Thanks, Doggy! If you need medical attention, call me!
Love and licks,
C
Oh Cutey Pie Cupcake I DO hope you and your Mommy stay super safe while Sandy’s visiting. We’re hunkered down here too waiting for her to visit us as well. This lady really gets around doesn’t she? My Mom usually gets HAPPY when we have a visitor coming but she doesn’t seem all that happy about this Sandy person. I’d be very happy though if a pretty little nurse in a yellow raincoat named Cupcake was visiting me – I’m sure the folks in the Veterans Home just love you to pieces…….you and your Mom stay REAL SAFE – I will be hoping we ALL are.
Kitty hugs, Sammy
Thanks, Sammy. This Sandy person is taking her sweet time getting here. I wish she would hurry up and come and GO!
Love and licks,
C
I love your foul weather gear, Cupcake! You look very ready! (And I see that you have one of those bowls that are supposed to make you eat slower… 🙂 Take your time – enjoy that dinner :))
You have a good eye, Susanna. That IS a slow-feeder bowl! Since I used to live in foster care with big dogs (who ate my food and bit my head – not necessarily in that order), Mom got me this bowl to help me stop gobbling. It helps me eat a little slower, but when I finish I run around the house with the empty bowl and then try to eat it. If you look closely at the bottom rim, you can see where I chewed it when Mom didn’t catch me in time.
Love and licks,
C
please stay safe!!! I’m always ready for dinner ;o)
Thanks, E. I’m glad you like to eat dinner. That means your tummy must be feeling better.
Love and licks,
C
You look ready and very cute! I hope the hurricane doesn’t give you any trouble.
Thanks, Clowie! I don’t like hurricanes. When the wind blows, I think it’s spanking me.
Love and licks,
C
Stay safe Cuppycake! Hope you have your treats packed up just in case!
Thanks, M. Don’t worry, Mom won’t go anywhere without me and I won’t go anywhere without treats!
Love and licks,
C
You look very cute in your raincoat, ready for Sandy. I hope you stay safe and don’t need to use it.
Thanks, Long Life. I got out for a walk and back home without my coat. But it’s hanging right by the door. I think my luck is running out….
Love and licks,
C
HAHAHA! You guys are really READY! Stay safe and dry!
Hugs and pats,
Erik
P.S. I hope that PiBoIdMo isn’t 9,000 ideas! 😉
P.S.S. I love the rain coat! 🙂
Thanks, Erik. Don’t worry about PiBoIdMo. If you needed 9,000 ideas, they’d come. If anybody can do it, you can!
Love and licks,
C
Thanks! *extra pats and scratches for you!*
Good luck with Sandy! Cute rain coat!
Gorgeous photos! I especially like the raincoat 🙂
I hope you are OK Cupcake! You won a Frosty Paws prize pack. When you get a chance, send me your mailing address either via Facebook or rumpydog at hotmail dot com.
We hope you are safe and warm and that your little raincoat did it’s trick. You are so perfect for costumes. You have the perfect model look. Good luck in the PiBoIdMo, whatever that is.
I’m glad Sandy came and left – but I hope dinner visits often.
Wonderful post and just what we all need… helping hands and paws. We survived it and I hope you and yours too. Thank you for checking in during the Hurricane… your kind wishes were appreciated! 🙂
Aw Cupcake what a cutie you are! Thanks for visiting me today and leaving the kind words!
Thanks, Pawsitivelypets! I like being a cutie!
Love and licks,
